THE SEVEN PRINICPLES

The Nguzo Saba, which translates to "Seven Principles" in Swahili, is a set of principles rooted in Pan-Africanism and African-American culture. They represent a daily code of conduct for the promotion of prosperity and longevity of African peoples around the world.

"Nia," the fifth principle, emphasizes the importance of having a collective purpose as a community. It encourages individuals to work towards restoring and uplifting their community to its traditional greatness. Nia reminds people of African descent of the importance of striving towards a common goal and working together to achieve it, fostering a sense of purpose and unity among them.

The Nefer Symbol

The "nefer" symbol, or "nfr" symbol, is an ancient Egyptian hieroglyph representing beauty, goodness, and perfection. Depicted as a stylized lily or lotus emerging from a pot with a horizontal line below, it symbolizes harmony, balance, and well-being. Widely used in religious, artistic, and everyday contexts, it appears in inscriptions, jewelry, and architecture. Associated with the god Osiris, it signifies resurrection and eternal life, often seen in funerary contexts. The nefer symbol carries significant cultural and religious importance, embodying ideals of beauty, harmony, and divine blessings in ancient Egyptian society.
